The Titan Luxe Hybrid from Brooklyn Bedding is an ultra-supportive coil mattress specifically designed for people who weigh more than 230 pounds. However, we’ve found some people in this weight range prefer more contouring to optimize their spinal alignment and alleviate pressure in the shoulders, back, and hips. The Titan Luxe Hybrid caters to this crowd with a medium firm (6) feel and closer conforming.
What It’s Made of
A top layer of gel-infused memory foam is quilted into the cover, while the second layer is composed of TitanFlex polyfoam that offers a responsive feel akin to that of latex. Our testers noticed that these two layers combine to cushion the body without sinking too much, while a transitional polyfoam layer offers extra reinforcement for the body. An 8-inch coil system and a base layer of high-density foam ensure excellent overall stability.
How It Performed
Unlike the firmer Titan model, the Luxe Hybrid is constructed with a pillow-top. During our tests, we found that this feature creates an invitingly plush feel when you get into bed without sacrificing overall support. The side and back sleepers on our team both found the bed comfortable. Our testing has shown that sleepers who prefer these positions typically require a balance of support and cushioning to cradle sensitive joints while also maintaining healthy spinal alignment.
The Luxe Hybrid also performed well during our tests for temperature control. The coils circulate a decent amount of air, allowing the mattress to sleep reasonably cool. Exceptionally hot sleepers can also opt for a panel of phase change material, which absorbs and dissipates body heat. For an extra fee, this panel is sewn directly onto the surface of the mattress.
Even with the cooling panel, the Luxe Hybrid’s sticker price falls well below that of the average hybrid model. Brooklyn Bedding also ships the mattress for free throughout the contiguous U.S. Each purchase is backed by a 120-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty.
A lot of mattresses designed for people over 230 pounds provide excellent support at the expense of cushioning. The Titan Luxe Hybrid balances these two qualities nicely, producing a sleep surface that we found particularly well-suited to side and back sleepers. The mattress also earned stellar ratings for edge support and temperature control during our tests.Read our Full Titan Luxe Hybrid Review to learn more
